Project Details

This project comprised the design and delivery of a specialized athletic facility in Calgary tailored to competitive volleyball and multi-sport training. The scope included a five-court gymnasium, fitness/weight-training zones and support spaces, all configured to meet high-performance athlete needs.
From initial concept through documentation and construction, the design team placed a strong emphasis on coordination and operational clarity. Early workshops with the club and facility operators defined circulation, equipment flow, sightlines, and operational zones, ensuring that both athlete experience and staff logistics were embedded in the design. The workflow remained tightly managed, aligning consultants, client stakeholders and contractors through all phases of the project.
Architectural and interior design decisions were underpinned by strict review of building-code compliance, accessibility, fire- and life-safety standards, and future-proofing for growth and evolving programming. The team led the permitting process and code coordination with the relevant authorities to deliver a facility that is both high-performing and durable.
