Mosquito Grizzly Bear’s Head Lean Man First Nation

NORTH BATTLEFORD, SASKATCHEWAN

Project Details

This project represents a comprehensive, mixed-use destination rooted in both community visioning and long-term economic development. Through a series of dedicated Elder engagement workshops, the design has been shaped by cultural knowledge, storytelling, and lived experience, ensuring that the project reflects the values and identity of the Nation.
The development includes a 200,000 sq.ft. primary building featuring a 42,000 sq.ft. SIGA casino floor (expanded from an initial 36,000 sq.ft. program), a full-service hotel with 140 guest rooms, and a convention centre anchored by a trade show floor accommodating up to 1,000 people, supported by multiple flexible meeting spaces.

Situated on a 20-acre site, the broader master plan integrates future multifamily residential and commercial retail unit (CRU) buildings, along with approximately 800–900 parking stalls to support regional draw. The site design is further defined by its escarpment landscape, which is being carefully developed to include nature trails and culturally significant gathering spaces, reinforcing a connection between the built environment and the land.
